EXCLUSIVE: Kibaki and Wambui spotted taking a leisure walk in Carnaby street, London

EXCLUSIVE: Kibaki and Wambui spotted taking a leisure walk in Carnaby street, London

Tuesday, 31/07/2012- Word on the street has it that Hon. Mwai Kibaki was spotted taking a leisure walk on Carnaby Street, London with his sweetheart Mary Wambui.
According to a source in the Diaspora, the two who are in London for the Olympics were followed by their bodyguards from a distance.
A young Kenyan man who dwells in West London revealed that he met with the elderly couple while he was jogging and was fascinated on the resemblance of the old man to President Kibaki.
 To cure his curiosity, he called his relatives in Kenya who confirmed that Kibaki was actually in London. He tried to catch up with the President to get a handshake and take a picture but his bodyguards warned him against what they termed as ‘infringing on his privacy’.
Drama has been taking place in Kibaki’s home and this might be the reason he took a break. The controversial first Lady, Lucy Kibaki recently chased away Kibaki’s head chef, King’ori in unclear circumstances.
Lucy also fired the head of Presidential Escort Unit Kitili Mwendwa for allowing Wambui to visit Kibaki at his Harambee House office.
Early this year, a sickly Lucy also went ahead and fired her house aide for mixing her clothes with Kibaki’s in the laundry basket.

Lucy Kibaki strikes AGAIN

Lucy Kibaki strikes AGAIN

Tuesday July 31, 2012 - First Lady Lucy Kibaki has unceremoniously sacked President Kibaki’s head chef in unclear circumstances.

The chef who can only identified as Mr King’ori lost the job a few hours before President Kibaki left for the official opening ceremony of the London 2012 Olympics last Friday.

Lucy Kibaki has been keeping a low profile and has also been absent during public functions for close to a year.

According to a credible source, the chef has not been replaced after the fallout with the first lady.

The head chief is the latest in a long list of senior State House staff who have unceremoniously exited State House during the Kibaki era.

Some of those who have left State House in unclear circumstances are former state house comptrollers, Matere Keriri, Hyslon Ipu and Nelson Githinji.

The same fate befell the President’s Security Chief, Kitili Mwendwa early this month after she allowed PNU activist Mary Wambui to “see” President Kibaki at his Harambee House office.

Kitili was sacked and later redeployed to police headquarters.

Can this be TRUE? Meles is DEAD

Can this be TRUE? Meles is DEAD

An Ethiopian Airlines employee, who wants to remain anonymous, informed reporters this afternoon that Ethiopia’s dictator Meles Zenawi has died 4 days ago. But according to our sources, his bodyguards are still at St. Luc Hospital in Belgium. If Meles is dead, what are they doing in Belgium? Is it a diversionary tactic?
When asked how he found out the information, the EAL employee said that he overheard it by accident on Monday from senior airline officials who are members of the ruling party. He added that he receives Ethiopian Review email updates regularly and decided to contact us with this information after hearing Bereket Simon’s interview this morning and was offended by what he heard.
Coupled with similar information we have been receiving since Sunday from several credible sources, the story about the dictator’s death is gaining more credence by the day.
Woyanne propaganda chief Bereket Simon’s press conference this morning (watch below) raised more questions than answers. Observers speculate that the Woyanne junta could be keeping the dictator’s death secret because there is a growing dissatisfaction with Meles Zenawi’s choice of Berhane Gebrekristos as his successor.

SHOCK to MPs: Election on or before January 15

SHOCK to MPs: Election on or before January 15

Tuesday July 31, 2012-News just in indicates that, The Court of Appeal has said the next general election must be on or before January 15 next year.

In her ruling on Tuesday, Lady Justice Martha Koome who was among the five judge bench, said  the life of current parliament should not be  extended beyond the five year term and the March 4th election date is unconstitutional.

She said parliament should be dissolved on November 14 this year to pave way for the January election.

This is a big blow to the Independent Electoral Boundaries Commission (IEBC) and President Mwai Kibaki who were comfortable with the March 4 elections.

Prime Minister Raila Odinga and Gichugu MP Martha Karua have been on the frontline lobbying the government to set election date this December.

Kenya ready to respond in case of Ebola outbreak

Kenya ready to respond in case of Ebola outbreak

Tuesday, the 31st of July 2012 -Several top health officials have told the Kenyan DAILY POST that the country is ready to respond in the unfortunate possibility that an Ebola virus outbreak happens in the country.

Uganda is currently facing the daunting task of containing the spread of the Ebola virus after news had it on Monday that one person had died in the capital Kampala. That death brought the official death toll to 14.

With Kenya having to pay attention to events across the border, the Director of Public Health Dr Shahnaaz Shariff has told the Kenya DAILY POST that several emergency teams are ready to respond in the instance of an outbreak;

“We are confident Ebola will be contained in Uganda but in case of an outbreak in Kenya, we are prepared to handle it,” said Shariff.

His sentiments were echoed by Busia District Public Health Officer Ambrose Fwamba who said the health officials in the District were stepping up screenings of people coming from across the border with Uganda;

“We are using the Provincial Administration and education officials to pass information regarding transmission and how to identify those who have contracted the disease,” said Fwamba.

Despite the optimism, Veronica Kiluva of the Centre for Disaster Management and Humanitarian Assistance at Masinde Muliro University of Science and Technology however warned the officials concerned that they cannot afford to be slack;

“What we need to do is ensure that we vet all those crossing our borders to avoid the spread of the deadly disease,” said Dr Kiluva.

“Health officers should use all possible platforms to intensify sensitisation of the public on how to identify early symptoms of the disease,” she concluded.
