Tuesday March 19, 2013 - The Supreme Court is set to gazette all the three petitions challenging the outcome of the March 4th Presidential elections in which Uhuru Kenyatta was declared winner.

This comes after the Attorney General Prof. Githu Muigai wrote to the court requesting to be enjoined in the cases as an interested party and a friend of the court to represent the interests of the public. The petitions are to be made public in at least one of the local Dailies.(today)

The first petition was filed by three voters allied to Uhuru’s Jubilee challenging the inclusion of rejected votes to determine the final tally.

The second petition was filed by Raila’s CORD challenging the declaration of Uhuru Kenyatta as the winner of the March 4th Presidential election. Raila cites massive election irregularities that rendered the process not free and fair. He now wants the court to order a repeat of the election.

The third petition was by the Civil Society organization which questions the modality of the electoral process Issack Hassan’s IEBC used to arrive at the final tally.
