Friday February 1, 2013 - Wiper Party Secretary General Mutula Kilonzo has urged parties in Coalition for Reform and Democracy (CORD) to unite or be defeated by the Jubilee alliance hands down on March 4th poll.
Speaking to journalists after presenting his senatorial papers to Makueni returning officer, Mutula said infighting among CORD candidates will weaken the alliance and give their rivals in the Jubilee alliance an advantage in the March 4th election.
Mutula, who is also the Education Minister, said it is important for all the 14 parties forming CORD to support it to win the elections or be trounced by their Jubilee rivals before noon on March 4th.
“CORD has 14 affiliate parties fielding candidates in various posts in the forthcoming general elections and I call upon all of them to unite and work together to ensure the coalition Presidential candidate Prime Minister Raila Odinga wins the election,”Mutula said.
He said their rivals are well prepared for the battle urging CORD principals to unite their teams before it is too late.
