Nairobi, Kenya: The printing of ballot papers risks being delayed after a man moved to court to have ballot papers for presidential candidates include photographs and symbol of their running mates.
Nicholas Kyunuve says as a member of Wiper Democratic Movement, he wants to see the picture and symbol of their party leader Kalonzo Musyoka.
He wants Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) prohibited from printing or processing the printing of ballot papers for presidential aspirants pending the hearing and determination of the petition.
party and symbol
“IEBC has acted contrary to the Constitution and Political Parties Act by its failure to include the photos, name of political party and symbol of the running mates on the ballot paper,” he said.
Kyunuve said the electoral body has published a sample of ballot papers for the presidential elections, which has not taken into consideration the specific details of deputy president.
