Its seems King'ori Mwangi's bluff that he had a dossier on drug trafficking which implicated top politicians and senior government officials may not be one after all. King'ori had requested the National Police Service Commission not to ask him questions about drug trafficking and drug lords and if they were to do so, he demanded that it be done in-camera. No sooner had his interview ended that a well known politician started calling people in newsrooms to find out if they had got the dossier and whether his name was mentioned!

Things have certainly gone full circle especially as they relate to the ICC cases. Note this, On February 21, 2009 the Daily nation published an article titled " Ruto: why I prefer the Hague route" in which Ruto asked Chief Mediator Kofi Annan to forward the Waki envelop containing names of the post-election violence suspects to ICC. His position then went contrary to that of his then party leader Prime Minister Raila Odinga who preferred a local tribunal. The ODM Reloaded team has made numerous copies of this story which they are liberally distributing during their campaigns especially in the Rift Valley. The intention is to disabuse the people of the claims by anti-Raila forces that the PM conspired with unknown people to land Ruto at the ICC.

A group of lawyers are unhappy with the Chief Justice Willy Mutunga following a recent attempt by the high court to temporarily lift the sacking of five judges. In a heated exchange in the court corridors, the lawyers accused the CJ of having overthrown the constitution by constituting the five-member bench to hear the matter because he didn't have the jurisdiction to do so. One of the lawyers, a senior counsel said Section 23 of the Sixth Schedule of the constitution makes it clear that the decisions of the Vetting Board are not subject to challenge or review by any court.
