Friday October 5,2012 - After yesterday’s remarks that he will make a major announcement today, Energy Minister Kiraitu Murungi has finally declared that his party, the Alliance Party of Kenya (APK), popularly known as “mbus” will support Deputy Prime Minister Uhuru Kenyatta’s presidential quest in the upcoming poll.
Addressing party delegates in Nairobi, Kiraitu said party members have unanimously agreed to throw their weight behind the Gatundu South legislator’s Presidential bid.
The APK and Kiraitu himself have been the subject of parody in recent weeks as commentators have used the party symbol (mbus) in many variations of jokes that play on the fact that the ‘mbus party’ has stalled or has ‘no driver’.
Now the “mbus” has a driver and it is Uhuru Kenyatta!
