Friday September 27, 2012-It seems The National Alliance (TNA) is enjoying a bumper harvest of defectors, after Vice President Kalonzo Musyoka’s pointman in Coast region became the latest defector to join Deputy Prime Minister Uhuru Kenyatta’s party.
Peterson Mitau who is eyeing the Changamwe parliamentary seat became the latest olitician to join TNA.
Mitau was Wiper Democratic Movement chairman in Coast Province and a close ally of the VP.
Announcing his defection on Friday, Mitau said he has joined DPM Uhuru Kenyatta’s TNA so as not be seen as a tribal leader given that Changamwe is cosmopolitan.
He said he had opted to join TNA after wide consultations with his Constituents who gave him the nod to support Uhuru for president.
The aspirant said he will ensure DPM garners majority votes in Coast Province in the forthcoming general election.
He said residents of Coast region were duped in 2007 general elections and they will not repeat the mistake again.
Mitau said TNA is like the “Biblical Noah’s Ark” and every Kenyan should enter the party, for political and economic prosperity.
