Friday August 17, 2012-Nairobi Metropolitan minister Jamleck Kamau is undergoing sleepless nights after prosecutors said they have enough evidence to nail him for hate speech charges.
Deputy Police spokesman Charles Owino has expressed optimism that the hate speech charges facing the Cabinet Minister and Limuru MP Peter Mwathi will lead to a conviction.
Mr Owino said they are praying that the High Court issues a landmark ruling that will serve as an example to would be offenders.
He challenged the two to stop crying foul and instead prove their innocence before court.
“We are praying that the High Court will issue a landmark ruling that will lead to conviction. In the process of fighting others will always cry while others will be happy,” Owino noted.
He also said the office of Director of Public Prosecutions has recommended for prosecution since they have enough evidence to convict the two.
Both Kamau who is also the Kigumo MP and Mr Mwathi are alleged to have said that Kikuyus who will not support Deputy Prime Minister Uhuru Kenyatta’s presidential quest will face ill health at a public rally in Limuru.
