Share/Save/Bookmark It seems the ongoing confirmation charges at the ICC have stalled the implementation of the constitution as regards the appointment of the Inspector General of Police and his two assistants. The Office of the President was supposed to appoint a selection panel to advertise and interview the candidates by September 17, a week ago, but this did not happen. Our mole in the OP tells us the Head of Public Service Francis Muthaura who was supposed to coordinate the appointment of the panel does not seem to be aware of the time lines.

Prime Minister Raila Odinga was heckled on Wednesday by supporters of Makadara MP Gideon 'Sonko' Mbuvi as he attended the memorial services of the Sinai fire victims at Uhuru Park. Raila's supporters are pointing an accusing finger at Vice President Kalonzo Musyoka who was also present. The Raila fanatics have vowed to revenge the next time Raila and Kalonzo share a podium. The two leaders have in the past exchanged blames following incidents where Kalonzo was booed by Raila's supporters in Mombasa in the lead-up to the 2007 election and at Uhuru Park during last year's referendum campaigns.

A Nairobi businessman is frustrated because it seems his daughter may not eventually graduate next month at the Catholic University of East Africa with a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) degree. The man's differences with one of the school's administrators seem to have affected his daughter who has not seen some of her results dating back to 2009. The businessman is a staunch Catholic whose four children have all attended the CUEA.

The office-keeper at Orange House which is the ODM headquarters was recently arrested and hauled to court following the disappearance of a Sh48,000 generator. The first suspect was released under unclear circumstances and the office-keeper was instead locked up.
