Amani coalition leader Musalia Mudavadi has dismissed Kakamega Senator Bonny Khalwale’s support for immediate former Bungoma Senator Moses Wetang’ula as an individual decision with no consequence.
The former Foreign Affairs minister dismissed Mudavadi's support for Kombo saying it means nothing as Bungoma people do not need advice from political failures.
Speaking in Webuye on Saturday, Mudavadi said all Amani coalition affiliated parties, which include; his United Democratic Front, Kanu and New Ford Kenya have made it clear they will support Kombo and they have no dispute whatsoever on his candidature.
“I want to make it clear, contrary to all rumours and speculations that we have all agreed to support Kombo, whose victory in the March 4 general election was fraudulently snatched away,” he said.
Mudavadi accused Khalwale of being hypocritical and playing cheap politics as he was part of the team that agreed to support Kombo.
Mudavadi, told the residents to use the coming by-election to correct the wrongs that happened in the March 4th polls, which resulted in the invalidation of the senatorial election by the High Court.
He was accompanied by Kombo, MPs; Dan Wanyama (Webuye West), Alfred Agoi (Sabatia) and Dr Reginalda Wanyonyi (Bungoma women’s representative).
Mudavadi, in the company of Amani coalition leaders, was on a meet-the-people tour in Tongaren, Sirisia and Kabuchai constituencies in Bungoma county.
Wetang'ula on the other hand has accused Musikari Kombo of being a puppet of Jubilee.
"This man, Kombo, is being sponsored by enemies of Bungoma who do not mean well. He has no agenda for this county and I challenge him to reveal who his masters are," Wetang’ula said.
Apart from the two, journalist David Maklai will run for the senate seat as an independent.
