Friday, the 1st of March 2013 - News just in indicates that President Mwai Kibaki will today make an official address to the nation on the upcoming elections.
The address will air on both radio and television and will start at about 4:00 p.m.
The President is expected to give details of measures the government has taken to ensure that Monday’s polls go on as smoothly as possible as well as to make an appeal to Kenyans to observe peace on the day.
This will be one of the few times that the President has addressed the nation live outside of official functions and national events. The only other time in memory he has done so is on the day he sought to clarify to the nation that he only has one wife.
