I am encouraged as always by the enthusiasm of Kenyans as I tour Embu, but my heart is heavy with the news from Mathare in Nairobi. This unfortunate destruction of life and property must truly stop now! I know it is not easy, but IGP Kimaiyo must seize this opportunity to show Kenyans that it will not be business as usual during his reign as the Inspector General of Police. To the Mathare community, the police can only come in occasionally, but the true policing and security comes from the community that knows its members. You too can assist the police and working together, government and the people can create safer and stable communities.
