Deputy President William Ruto has launched a new party secretariat dubbed Jubilee Asili Centre in Kilimani to host his allies who have been de-whipped by President Uhuru's Jubilee party.
According to reports, 20 MPs drawn from the Jubilee party met over lunch on Thursday, a day after National Assembly Speaker Justin Muturi formally announced the discharge of all those de-whipped by the party.

“We had a meeting with the DP at the Jubilee Asili Centre. It is a centre for all members, not parallel. It is the centre for Jubilee Party members who believe in the original idea of the party, including the implementation of the promises we gave to the people,” Murkomen said.
On Friday Morning, Jubilee deputy Secretary General Caleb Kositany told Citizen TV’s Daybreak that the new Jubilee Asili houses members who still believe in the original Jubilee dream.
“The Original Jubilee did not want to be involved with small tribal parties with one MP or half an MP, that’s why we had folded over 12 parties to be one party, it is sad that it has taken this route, we are not longer democratic, the party has become a private members club,” Kositany explained.

The new faction has also substituted colors in the Jubilee emblem and features black in the place of red if photos shared online are anything to go by.
Taking to Twitter after the meeting, DP Ruto thanked the MPs who had been de-whipped from the party and asked them to focus on Jubilee’s people-centered transformational agenda now and in the future.
The Ruto-allies meeting came after the Speaker of the National Assembly Justin Muturi, in a communication to the house, confirmed the removal of Kikuyu MP Kimani Ichung’wa from the Budget Committee that he was chairing.
Also ousted was Gladys Shollei from the Delegated Legislation Committee.
Victor Munyaka will no longer chair the Sports Committee, while William Cheptumo has been de-whipped from the Justice and Legal Affairs Committee that he chaired.
Others shown the door include Moses Kuria, Alice wahome, Robert Pukose, Fred Kapondi, Joyce Korir, Khatib Mwashetani and Catherine Waruguru.
