Amos Kimunya emerged top of his class during USIU 36th graduation held on Saturday 23rd August. The former Finance minister, who was among graduates from Germany, Australia, Mexico and other twenty seven nations, graduated with a GPA of 4.0 (the highest grade in higher learning) in Global Executive MBA.
Kisumu West MP Shakeel Ahmed and Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission vice chairperson Irene Keino were also among the Global Executive Masters of Business Administration graduands.
While addressing new graduates at the commencement ceremony, the Vice Chancellor Prof. Freida Brown was concerned with the rising status of the African, saying the continent requires graduates with the international orientation and the high quality education to meet the needs of fast – growing economies.
Education Cabinet Secretary Prof. Jacob Kaimenyi who was the chief guest, urged the university to scale up its doctorate programmes in order address the increasing demand in higher education.
Kaimenyi also commended the University for supporting people living with disabilities, urging every learning institution to have a disability policy and programs.
