Blogger Bongoko Bosire.
BLOGGER Bogonko Bosire is yet to be found almost two weeks after he went missing.
Yesterday, his co-blogger and State House director of digital, news media and diasporan affairs Dennis Itumbi confirmed that Bosire is missing.
He said family and friends have looked for Bosire in a number of places including morgues to no avail.
Yesterday, journalists based in Naivasha visited Naivasha Mortuary to check if he was among those found dead in Mahi Mahiu.
“Reports that he was in Naivasha Mortuary are not true. We just checked and cross checked,” Itumbi said yesterday.
A cousin who lived with Bosire saw him last on September 18.
Safaricom has given his mobile phone records which show the last activity was an SMS to his sister on September 19.
His brother however says he saw him on Friday, a day before the Westgate attack.
“We have checked City Mortuary he was not there as of Friday last week. We will conduct a further search. Kenyatta National Hospital was negative,” Itumbi said.
Bosire's family reported him missing at Industrial Area Police Station last week.
Itumbi said “other sources” indicate Bosire was last seen at Sigona Golf Club on Saturday.
He however said the information has not been verified.
Bosire blogs for the Jackal News website.
His last blog post was on ICC prosecution witness 536.
He posted a photo of a woman he claimed was the witness.
The woman later surfaced to say she was not the witness.
The blog has since published a piece calling on everyone with information about his whereabouts to report to the police.
The post written by “Jackal News Team” says they have looked for him everywhere including the pubs he frequents in vain.
“His family is horrified beyond explanation. His close friends are extremely concerned. We are wondering if he could have been at Westgate on Saturday morning. We don’t know,” the post says.
“Even if he is not among your favorite people in this town, please don’t raise any hard feelings that can stand in the way of our search or prayer,” the post adds.
