Mombasa, Kenya: President Uhuru Kenyatta has warned that drug lords in the country will be dealt with firmly in order to save lives of thousands of youths under threat from drug menace.
Speaking when he addressed Mombasa city residents in Mwembe Tayari area who thronged the road to greet him, President Kenyatta said his government is keen to safeguard the welfare of the youth.
He said the young persons must be protected from the menace in order to live positive and productive lives.
He said his Government does not consider the political affiliation of Kenyans but was keen to ensure equitable development in all parts of the country.
Noting that the time for politics was over, President Kenyatta said his Government is pre-occupied with availing quality education, health care services and other development initiatives that would improve the lives of all Kenyans.
He singled out the provision of laptops to pupils as well as the free maternal healthcare service as among key priorities for the Government.
President Kenyatta said he would spend a few days issuing title deeds to residents of the coast region in a bid to resolve the land problem in the area.
Addressing wananchi Deputy President William Ruto said during the working tour with the President, they would deal with the land question in accordance with their pledges during the March General election campaigns.
