Corridors of Power

Tuesday, August 20, 2013 - 00:00 -- BY POLITICAL DESK
Whoever is ghost-posting on President Uhuru Kenyatta's Facebook page needs to get his/her act together. On Sunday evening, the following message “Please join me in congratulating Asbel Kiprop and Eunice Jepkoech Sum for their impeccable wins in the 1500m and 800m finals respectively. You have done Kenya very proud" was posted on Uhuru's Facebook giving his location as from “near Nairobi'yet at that time he was in China! Question is, should Kenyans trust any future message posted on “Uhuru Kenyatta” Facebook page as coming directly from the President or should we assume they are from his handlers?

Some dons from a leading university were heard grumbling that whenever a case is filed in court by the institution or by any of its employees the varsity automatically win as long as a certain judge is handling it. The lecturers said the outcome is vastly different when similar cases are handled by any other judge and have now come to the conclusion that the friendship between the judge and the Vice Chancellor has a bearing on the favorable outcome of the cases filed against the university. The lecturers now want to file a complaint with the Judicial Service Commission (JSC) seeking a probe into the conduct of the said judge

Still on the same institution, several other dons are claiming the university council is yet to be shown proof of the purchase of a parcel of land completed several years ago. They claim that top officials of the varsity ordered that the 190 acres piece of land be valued at Sh6 million per acre despite the seller having offered the same at Sh5 million per acre. Little is known of what happened to the Sh190 million difference.
