NAIROBI, KENYA: A joint committee investigating allegations into the conduct of Chief Registrar of the Judiciary has suspended proceedings until further notice.
The committee was on Friday morning served with a court order restraining it from commencing or continuing any disciplinary proceedings against Gladys Shollei.
The conservatory order barred the committee from undertaking proceedings on the matter, pending an inter parties hearing in August 27.
“Following the court order, the committee is suspending all proceedings it was carrying out on the subject matter, until further notice,” said Kakai Kissinger, acting Secretary, Judicial Service Commission.
Shollei was on Monday evening sent on leave to pave way for investigations into unspecified allegations of financial impropriety against her by some members of the JSC.
Chief Justice Willy Mutunga announced the decision following a three-hour meeting of the JSC in which commissioners voted 5-4 to send Mrs Shollei on leave pending a probe that must be concluded within 15 days
