The demand for more money by some of the newly elected governors seem to know no bounds. Not only do they want more power and more money for themselves, one of the governors was overheard asking for a quotation of a chopper. It is not clear where a chopper fits in the grand plan of devolution. As it is, our moles are digging to get more info on the request and we shall definitely keep you posted on how this request progresses.....or flops.

It seems that the more things change, the more they remain the same....at least as far as devolution of dirty tricks is concerned. A senior associate of yet another of the new governors has reportedly been soliciting for cash from the business community —in the name of the governor. The intention is not to share the loot with the governor, but to recoup the sums he claims he spent on the governor's campaigns. He is optimistic that he will recover the money in the next few weeks as he continues 'selling access and contacts' in the new devolved unit.

Deputy President William Ruto has not wasted time in getting to work. He has quickly appointed former parliamentary liaison officer David Mugonyi as the head of his press service. Mugonyi was close at hand working as Ruto was addressing his staff outside his new office (previously the Office of the Prime Minister right across from Harambee House) and our sources tell us the young man has been given a free hand to equip, recruit and manage the press team which he is currently assembling.

We knew it would not take too long for this kind of 'complaint' to surface. A souse of one of the prominent senators was overheard complaining that a female legislator had already 'taken' her husband. The woman told Corridors that whereas her husband and his 'girlfriend' conducted their affair in a discreet manner, she got to know of the affair from one of his bodyguards who got tired of the mistreatment he was getting. The bodyguard claimed the two lovers had got to the point of kicking him out of the car so that they could make out. The woman has initiated steps for divorce.
