Tuesday, the 19th of March 2013 - News just in indicates that a blast in the North Eastern town of Mandera has killed one police officer and left at least two other people injured.
Details of the blast are still sketchy but reports so far have suggested that the blast was caused by an Improvised Explosive Device (IED).
This is the latest attack in Mandera, a town that has seen more than its fair share of terrorist attacks by members of Al Shabaab terror and its sympathizers.
Al Shabaab is fighting an asymmetrical war with AMISIOM forces in neighboring Somalia. Kenya as well as Uganda and Ethiopia have contributed the bulk of the troops to the AMISOM force.
More to follow.
