Mr Odinga said ODM was ready for the March 4 elections, and that the huge turnout at Sunday’s rally was a sign of good things to come.
“We are ready to change the leadership of this country. The journey is still long but as the Chinese say a journey of 1000 miles starts with one step,” Mr Odinga, who was accompanied by ODM chairman Henry Kosgey, said.
The PM directed security agencies to stop harassing Kenyans and instead protect lives and property. He urged Kenyans to turn up in large numbers and registers as voters.
Defence assistant Minister Joseph Nkaissery cautioned Kenyans against electing leaders facing crimes against humanity charges at the International Criminal Court so that the country is not shunned by the international community.
Former Kenya National Commission on Human Rights vice-chairman Hassan Omar said ICC suspects should carry their own crosses and stop accusing other people of being behind their woes.
“Eldoret North MP William Ruto should tell Kenyans the truth and stop saying I fixed him. We have been quiet for long and we will soon let Kenyans know everything. Those facing charges at ICC are not fit to lead the country,” Mr Omar told the rally.
