NO EBOLA in Kenya - Beth Mugo assures


Friday August3, 2012 - Public Health Minister Beth Mugo has assured the country by saying there is no case of Ebola virus in the country as had been earlier announced
Mugo said the cases that were reported in Siaya and Eldoret regions were not Ebola virus.

“The man in Siaya County had symptoms similar to Ebola but we found out he had eaten meat from the goat that had been half swallowed by a python,” Mugo said. 

Mugo who is also the Dagoretti MP said her Ministry has put stringent surveillance measures, including screening of persons entering the country from Uganda and parts of Tanzania.

She said her Ministry is on high alert and has put up a national task force that has been meeting twice a week to review the situation.

Director of Public Health Service Kassam Sharif heads the team.
