Former President Moi now turns against BLIND PEOPLE
News02:12
Monday August 13, 2012-Former President Daniel Moi on Sunday criticized the appointment of Dr Samuel Kipng’etich Tororei (who is blind) to the Land Commission.
Speaking during the opening of the Kapsikiara African Gospel Church in Kericho County, Moi demanded the replacement saying there was a need for someone who could see the real issues on the ground and with knowledge of land issue in the Rift Valley.
Moi insisted that there was no bad blood between him and Torrorei, saying Dr Tororei is best suited to the commissions that represent the interests of the physically challenged or other minority groups.
Moi’s assertions came barely days after the high court ordered the former President and Moi High School Kabarak to surrender a 100 acre parcel of land in Rongai constituency grabbed from the Bell family in the 1980s.
Appellate judges Martha Koome and Hannah Okwengu ordered Moi and the school associated with him to vacate within six months as they were in illegal possession of the land which belongs for Malcolm Bell and his family.
