A cabinet minister is unhappy that Speaker Kenneth Marende chose August 7 as the day for MPs to move to the refurbished chamber of the House. The minister complained that the ceremony should have been deferred for a day to allow the nation to commemorate hundreds of Kenyans who died during the 1998 bomb blast. He was shocked that the Speaker didn't even ask MPs for a minute's silent in respect of those who died then while agitating for more freedom and multipartyism that, in a way, may have played a large part in Marende's ascending to the seat of the Speaker of the National Assembly.

The visit to South Africa by a vocal politician has left a bitter taste in the mouths of many in ODM especially coming as rumours of a possible defection of the MP to TNA. The politician left the country for down south on Thursday night where the politician was reported to have decided to go and meditate before making the announcement. What has angered ODM stalwarts is that she made the trip in the company of some politicians allied to a senior minister in the coalition.

Questions are being raised about the people behind the Savannah Cement manufacturers which is putting up a factory at a staggering Sh8 billion on a 25-acre plot within the Export Processing Zone. The factory is a consortium of a Wan-Ho and Catic Cement both of of China and Savannah Weights, a group of kenyan investors are said to have incorporated the son of a senior local political to enable them open more doors, as our tipster said.
