The archaic weapon was found in Namcha area by a group of boys who unknowingly were playing with it before an elder stopped them.
Following the discovery locals called on the army to take action adding that there were fears that if the weapon fell on the wrong hands it could cause deaths.
The community leader Josphat Ole Kishau said that the weapon was discovered a week ago and the security team informed.
He said that since the report was made no action had been taken and there were fears that the bomb could blow up as there were many livestock in the area.
“We want the army to come and detonate this weapon or it might fall in the hands of these terrorists antagonizing the country,”said Kishau.
His sentiments were echoed by Mr Jeremiah Kisiani who told how two minors in the area died some years ago while playing with a similar gadget.
He called on the concerned personnel to handle the issue with the seriousness it deserved before the gadget caused injuries or destruction.
“If terrorists can get such a weapon they can antagonize Kenyans especially at this time when the government is fighting them,’”Kisiani said.
Speaking on phone Naivasha Deputy OCPD Paul Korir said that bomb disposal experts had been informed about the issue.
“We are waiting for the experts to arrive anytime and deal with the gadget which the locals claim is a bomb,”Korir said.
Early in the year at least five children died in Ngong area after playing with a similar object left behind by army during training exploded.
