Nazleen Omar
Ms Nazleen Omar, who made a stab for the presidency in 2007 but flopped miserably, was in Suswa recently for a ‘No’ rally. She managed to catch former President Moi’s ear, perhaps seeking advice on how realpolitik is played. However, the arrival of ministers William Ruto and Samuel Poghisio meant an end to Nazleen’s one-on-one with Moi. Worse, she had to vacate her seat for Ruto but when asked to do the same for Poghisio, she refused. This forced Bomet MP Nick Salat to do the gentlemanly thing and give up his seat. Talk of Nazleen fighting to remain in the picture! Photos: Collins Kweyu/Standard
