President Kibaki was among several VIPs who visited Prime Minister Raila Odinga in hospital yesterday as he spent his third day at the hospital to rest.
Kibaki, who was accompanied by Head of Public Service Francis Muthaura, spent an hour with Raila, his wife Ida and neurologist Dr Olwenyi Oluch.
No other person was allowed to the ward for the time Kibaki was in.
He arrived at about 3pm and left an hour later without saying a word to journalists who were waiting.
Other VIPs who visited included Speaker Kenneth Marende, Cabinet ministers George Saitoti, Moses Wetang’ula, Franklin Bett, Joseph Nyagah, Naomi Shaban, Musalia Mudavadi, Esther Murugi, William ole Ntimama, Mutula Kilonzo, William Ruto, Sally Kosgei, MPs Yusuf Chanzu, Shakir Shabir, Omondi Anyanga and ambassadors from European Union, France, China and Pakistan.
Head of Catholic Church John Cardinal Njue also visited the PM and came out saying they had prayed together as he wished him quick recovery.
The ministers who walked out and talked to journalists said they talked about football and the Proposed Constitution.
Thanked Kenyans
"He is doing well and we discussed the ongoing World Cup and the Proposed Constitution. He really wants it to pass," said Wetang’ula.
Wetangula said the PM had assured Kenyans that he is doing well and thanked them for their concern and support after he was taken ill on Monday.
Former minister Njenga Karume, who was accompanied by former MP Kuria Kanyingi, said the PM was concerned with the ‘Yes’ campaigns and had asked them to ensure they do not slow down.
He said Raila urged the team backing the draft to "soldier on" with campaigns at the grassroots and would join them soon. "We have told him we will ensure this constitution passes," said Karume.
