Former Mungiki leader Maina Njenga Thursday launched a new lobby to campaign for the proposed constitution.
Mr Njenga said the National Youth Movement for Yes brought together young people from different political parties across the country.
“The National Youth Movement for Yes will preach peace and educate the youth on the need to pass the proposed constitution,” he said.
Mr Njenga was speaking at the opening of the movement’s secretariat in Nairobi on Thursday.
The lobby’s first rally in Kibera Saturday will be addressed by Prime Minister Raila Odinga’s son, Fidel.
“Youths, who are the majority, must not lose the opportunity to pass the new constitution,” he said.
The former Mungiki chief accused the Judiciary of blocking reforms. “As a constant visitor to the courts, I can tell you that the judgement on kadhi courts was suspect.”
