"The time to deliver to the public is now" this was the Prime Minister Raila Odinga's message to public servants.
Raila who presided over the second performance contracts signing ceremony at the Kenyatta International Conference Centre (KICC) Tuesday spoke tough on non performers in the civil service who must either deliver or quit.
Raila said the government has put measures in place to ensure accountability in procurement by public institutions.
He assured government's committment to transforming the public service to enhance service delivery.
He disclosed that all public tenders will also be made public on a monthly basis, complete with details of tender sums, winners of tenders and details of delayed projects, including the names of contractors and cost over-runs.
He further said the government also plans to revamp staffing of local authorities once the Ministry of Local Government completes rationalizing the local authority into an economically viable size.
The signing of performance contracts by civil servants was launched in 2004 to enhance responsibility and accountability amongst public office holders.
