The process of filling the void left by former Kenya Anti Corruption Commission director Aaron Ringera has kicked off in earnest with the advisory board advertising his position and those of two assistants.
The advert appearing in a section of the local media comes barely two days after Ringera succumbed to public pressure and bowed out of the commission's helm.
The latest move by the anticorruption advisory board brings to an end a showdown between the executive and the legislature that was epitomized by parliament's annulment of the reappointment of Ringera.
To qualify for the position successful candidates are required to have among others served for 15 years in the public service or senior managerial positions in the private sector as well as being graduates from a recognized university.
Also advertised are the two positions of deputy directors formerly held by Ms Fatuma Sichale and Dr Smokin Wanjala.
Ms Sichale was in charge of the Legal Services while Dr Wanjala was head of Research, Education, Policy and Preventive Services.
Interested candidates are required to send their applications to the advisory board not later than the 22nd of this month.
Those taking up the appointments are required to declare their assets and liabilities as well as relinquish all other employment, businesses or offices immediately they are appointed.
However the salaries for the Executive director has been reviewed from 2,5 million shillings to 1.7 million per month while that of the two assistants now stands at 1.1 million shillings down from 1.7 million shillings a month.
The names of successful candidates will, according to the law, then be forwarded to Parliament for vetting before being taken to the President for gazettement, a law that parliament argued was overlooked in the reappointment of Ringera and his two asistants.
