The Parliamentary Select Committee on Transport, Public Works and Housing will summon Transport, Roads and Internal Security ministers over the high number of deaths as a result of road carnage in the country.
Committee's Chairman David Were says unmarked bad roads and failure by traffic police to enforce laws governing public vehicles are among the causes of The high rate of accidents witnessed on the roads in the last few weeks.
Speaking at parliament buildings Wednesday afternoon, Were said most drivers of public vehicles either do not have the necessary experience to drive or have received poor training at the increasing numbers of driving schools.
Only last week, more than 50 people lost their lives in various road accidents across the country.
The accidents also come in the wake of renewed efforts by traffic police to enforce the famous ‘Michuki rules'.
