Cord cannot win any election while only interested in "talking about William Ruto" and lacking an agenda for Kenya, the DP has said.
Ruto said discussing personalities and engaging in what he termed meaning press conferences will not help the coalition in its pursuit of power.
"When they wake up in the morning, they talk about William Ruto and the harambees he is conducting. How is that their business and how is it beneficial to Kenyans?" he posed.
He addressed a delegation of elected, opinion and religious leaders from Kakamega and Bungoma counties at his Sugoi home on Friday.
Ruto said the Jubilee administration will, "without a doubt", win the 2017 general election as it has a clear development agenda.
He added that "unlike the Opposition", Jubilee is committed to the transformation agenda under which it formed the government following the March 4, 2013 general election.
“Kenyans are keen on electing leaders who are ready to embrace everyone and fight tribalism. This is what the Jubilee administration is all about,” he added.
Dismissing leaders who were opposed to the meeting, Ruto noted meeting Kenyans from different parts was his democratic right.
“No reasonable leader who believes in democracy would criminalise a meeting of Kenyans in any part of the country,” he said, adding such leaders have realised they are losing supporters to Jubilee.
“We are a democratic country and citizens can visit any leader in any part without restriction," he further said, and underlined that nothing will stop him from arranging meetings.
Bungoma Governor Kenneth Lusaka, MPs Benjamin Washiali (Mumias East), Dan Wanyama (Webuye West), Boniface Otsyula (Bumula), Emmanuel Wangwe (Navokholo), Bernard Washiali (Ikolomani), and former Shinyalu MP Justus Kizito were among those present.
Kizito told off Cord leader Raila Odinga over claims that Ruto persuaded a section of the Luhya community to join the party.
"We want Raila Odinga to tell us how much he has paid Senators Bonny Khalwale (Kakamega) and Moses Wetang'ula (Bungoma) to remain in Cord, if he believes Luhya leaders can be bought," he said.
The former MP announced his defection from the Amani National Congress (ANC) to the Jubilee Party.
