Midiwo out of ICU

Gem MP Jakoyo Midiwo who was hospitalised after fainting on Tuesday has been moved from the ICU to a private general ward.
Aga Khan Hospital, Kisumu medical director Sam Oula said Midiwo is in stable condition but needs rest.
“We are waiting to conduct one more test on him but I can assure the public that he is stable,” Oula said at the hospital on Wednesday.
Kisumu Deputy Governor Ruth Odinga and other leaders visited Midiwo at the hospital.
The National Assembly deputy minority chip whip felt dizzy at Kendu Bay town after a long day of campaigning for ODM Homa Bay senator candidate Moses Kajwang.
ODM member and Midiwo's close friend Albert Ojonyo told the Star that he had taken a helicopter to Nairobi for Parliament sessions but changed his mind.
It was then that he asked some boda boda riders to take him to the home of Wangchieng ward MCA Peter Kaula.
About 30 riders jostled one another for the chance, intending to take Midiwo to a guest house and steal his briefcase after noticing that he was unwell.
The briefcase was grabbed amid the disorder and Sh40,000 stolen, Kaula said.
Kaula's personal assistant Josy Owino noticed the boda boda operators and went to Midiwo's rescue.
Kaula and Kisumu assembly chief whip Isaiah Onyango rushed him to the hospital on Tuesday night.
Doctors reported that Midiwo passed out due to a drop in his blood sugar level, as a result of his diabetic condition.
