More than 20 people have been killed in retaliatory attacks between the Gare and Degodia clan in the on going Wajir-Mandera border conflict.
The 20 were killed in Gunna area of Wajir. Five people were seriously injured during the attack.
Tarbaj Sub-County OCPD David Kirui confirmed the killing.
The killings comes a day after the Degodia clan killed six people from the Gare clan on Saturday.
Majority leader Aden Dulale condemned the attacks in a Facebook posting.
"We must not shed blood of our people. The political and religious leadership from Northeastern must come together and preach peace among the warring clans. The Government security agencies must move with speed to provide security to the affected areas," said Majority leader Aden Duale.
The two clans have clashed over boundaries with the Gares’ unhappy with the moving of Kulani polling station from Mandera West constituency to Tarbaj constituency in Wajir county.
The Degodia maintain that Kulani which they refer to as Gunani belongs to them.
Mandera police boss Noah Mwivanda said police has restored calm in Rhamu following fresh hostilities pitting the two major Somali clans; Gare and Degodia.
Two university students were killed on Wednesday night by suspected militias from a rival clan in Rhamu.
Mwivanda said a man had been killed on Sunday in Malka Mare in Banisa sub county in the ongoing inter clan feuds.
“We are having a big challenge of dealing with these two clans’ militias as they spill over from Ethiopia to Kenya and after their unlawful activities they run back into their hideouts in Ethiopia,” he said.
