CORRIDORS OF POWER: Governor Evans Kidero’s trip to Nairobi was yesterday delayed for some time when a stray hippo caused a stir at Kisumu Yacht Club. The hippo had emerged from the Lake Victoria to rest next to a chopper in which the governor had flown to the lakeside city. It took the police quite some time to scare away the beast, which kept them on running battles as Kidero waited at the club’s lobby. The governor, who seemed to be in a hurry, had just conducted a fundraiser for Arina AIC Church together with Bomet Governor Isaac Rutto and their Kisumu colleague Jack Ranguma.
