Former presidential candidate Nazlin Umar
FORMER presidential candidate Nazlin Umar yesterday linked her marriage problems to former Prime Minister Raila Odinga.
Nazlin said when she opposed Raila’s presidential ambitions in 2009, her problems with estranged husband Madatali Chatur escalated.
In a case before High Court judge Isaac Lenaola in which Nazlin is demanding Sh1 million from the state, she said her tribulations are political since the police, the Attorney General and the Director of Public Prosecution did not act when she reported her case.
“My problems started as soon as I opposed Raila Odinga’s candidature. The three bodies seemed to be receiving orders from above,” Nazlin said.
She said officers at Kasarani police station were reluctant to take her statement about Chatur.
The case will be heard on January 14.
