DEPUTY President William Ruto has denied that financial budget meant for his office has been transferred to the Presidency.
The Star published a story yesterday that the Deputy President was furious that his budgetary allocation had been moved to the Presidency.
The story, based on multiple sources, also claimed some staff in the DP's office have gone without pay for months while others had their contracts revoked.
"The article in its entirety and fact is a fabricated falsehood, malicious concoctions and geared towards devious schemes of detractors of the government and should be treated with contempt. For the record, the Presidency is determined to be a service unit devoid of the big-man syndrome and the workings are seamless, synchronised and focused," said a statement sent to the Star last evening.
"The Star newspaper should take the earliest opportunity to correct the erroneous impression it has created."
On Tuesday, Ruto is understood to have summoned State House Controller Lawrence Lenayapa, his principal administrative secretary Daniel Wambura, chief of Staff Maryanne Keitany and other senior officials including the controller of budget and the chief accountant to a meeting in his Karen office.
Ruto is Uhuru's principal Deputy and can act as President in the latter's absence.
