Notable on the list of nominees unveiled on Friday afternoon include Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Internal Security Mutea Iringo (Interior Ministry, Transport Permanent Secretary Karanja Kibicho for the Foreign Affairs and Kenya Power’s Joseph Njoroge for the Energy Ministry.
Kenyatta National Hospital Chief Executive Officer Richard Lesiyampe has been named Principal Secretary for Environment, Water and Natural Resources.
Ambassador Monica Juma is the nominated Principal Secretary for Defence, in a list dominated by new faces. Others are Mariam El Mawi (Lands) Dr Wilson Songa (Industrialization and Enterprise Development).
Kenya Railways Managing Director Nduva Muli has also been nominated to head Transport while John Konchela took Devolution. Others are Ali Nur Ismail (Labour), Dr B Kipsang (Education) and Livestock Dr Khadija Kasachu.
Economic Secretary Dr Kamau Thugge will take up the Treasury; Cecily Kanini will be in charge of Agriculture, Japheth Nthiba fisheries and Defence Monica Juma. Commerce and Tourism will be headed by Ibrahim Mohammed while Prof Health Prof K Sigor. Joseph Tiampati takes up Information and Communication. Mining is Richard Titus as Sports is taken by Patrick Umtia.
The East African Community will be headed by Amani Mbaruki as Peter Magiti takes over Planning.
Names of the Principal Secretaries will now be forwarded to Parliament for formal approval and appointment for them to replace the current Permanent Secretaries.

The Public Service Commission had forwarded a list of 66 names of suitable candidates for the president’s consideration.
