A top security chief was surprised when he made an impromptu and unannounced visit to the home of one of the unsuccessful presidential candidates. He found the man in the balcony of his house, enjoying his favorite tipple— Johnnie Walker blended Scotch whisky—and dancing to his favorite music. Dressed in a pair of shorts and a t-shirt, the man seemed unconcerned when the cop asked him why he was drinking hard liquor in the middle of the day. "I am refreshing myself after a bloodsucking campaign period and thinking about what may have caused my dismal performance,” was the politician's reply.

A former beauty queen romantically linked to a parliamentary loser has had to reorganize herself and her wardrobe. The man has not only cut off the cash he regularly used to give her, he has also broken off their relationship and moved on (read, another partner). The beauty queen is now reduced to “re-winding and re-mixing” her clothes as she no longer has the resources that allowed her to get the latest fashions.

A leading health insurer has found itself in a sticky situation. It has lost all the records of majority of its clients as its IT department was migrating to a new system. The company has not informed its clients of the problem and has been coming up with all manner of 'explanations" when clients and their doctors insist on getting the medical records!

So, did the Attorney General Githu Muigai meet with the ICC chief prosecutor Fatou Bensouda when he went to the Hague on Tuesday or not? The AG had said he would meet with Bensouda during his trip there. However, a terse statement issued by his office said the AG only paid a courtesy call to the Deputy Prosecutor, the Registrar and the Vice-President of the Court. So was it a snub or was Bensouda out of town?
