Cord will address insecurity, says Kalonzo

Vice President Kalonzo Musyoka has said the Coalition for Reforms and Democracy (Cord) will address insecurity in northern Kenya.
Mr Musyoka assured that a Cord government will deploy adequate personnel to upper eastern and northern Kenya so that rampant insecurity is curtailed to ensure communities live peacefully.
He noted that Cord leadership's will be committed to implementing the Constitution fully, adding that this will benefit all Kenyans.
Mr Musyoka, who Prime Minister Raila Odinga running mate in Cord, spoke during public rallies in Moyale and Marsabit, in Marsabit county, Merti in Isiolo county and Archer’s post, Samburu East district in Samburu county Wednesday.
He urged called on Kenyans to come out in large numbers on March 4 and vote for Cord.
Mr Musyoka assured that a Cord government will ensure free primary and secondary education.
He said senior citizens will be provided with a monthly stipend to cushion them in their old age.
"The new constitution guarantees that no one should die of hunger,” he said.
On the youth, Mr Musyoka said Cord will provide grants to young people to start businesses and be job creators and not job seekers.
He said youth polytechnics will be started in order to train youth and women entrepreneurial skills so that they can invest their grants and loans wisely.
The VP assured residents of Archer’s Post that a modern maternity hospital will be constructed so that patients don’t travel long distances to access health services.
Mr Musyoka said Cord will ensure infrastructural development is carried out in northern Kenya to improve the transport network.
The rally was attended by Wiper vice chairman Joshua Leparashau and Cord aspirants from the County among others
Later, the Vice President addressed another rally at Isiolo Town.
