Kenya Vice President Kalonzo Musyoka says the Diaspora community has long been marginalized by the Kenyan government, and pledges to ensure more diaspora participation in Kenya's political and social-economic development if CORD (Coalition of Reforms and Democracy) Alliance is elected in the 2013 elections. The Vice President, a running mate under the CORD Alliance made the remarks last night on an appearance at the Kenya Diaspora Radio. He also regretted that diaspora voting was not implemented for the 2013 elections, and said that if CORD assumes power one of CORD's [and his personal] top agendas will be ensuring that IEBC fully sets up voting platforms for all Kenyans in the diaspora for the 2017 elections.

The VP also announcedthe launch of a new CORD website geared to the diaspora community. The website, www.kenyadiasporacordalliance.com, will act as a bridge between CORD and the diaspora community while also helping mobilize the diaspora community in ensuring CORD forms the next government, said Kalonzo.

Kalonzo also discussed other issues he said CORD will be central in CORD's agenda if the alliance assumes power - making Kenya a 24-hour economy, infrastructure, security, education, health, and fighting corruption.
