Many will not register as voters out of fear

The 30-day voter registration targeting 18 million voters might be a dream.
The 2008 post-election violence is still fresh in most Kenyans’ minds.
This situation is made worse by the wave of insecurity in the country.
The truth of the matter is that few will be willing to risk their lives by voting.
Tribalism, corruption, political instability, poverty and marginalisation are not helping matters either.
The government should have started civic education and peace campaigns to make Kenyans see the value of voting.
Security should also be beefed up all over the country.
