Water minister Charity Ngilu has reignited her war of words with Vice President Kalonzo Musyoka saying the latter is not fit to lead Kenyans.
Mrs Ngilu said the VP does not deserve to be Kenya's next president because he has little to show for his long time in politics and government.
"He has been an elected leader for too long but there is nothing to show for it. He can make those he would lead to suffer,” she said on the sidelines of the Annual National Water Sector conference in Nairobi Wednesday.
The two leaders are battling for supremacy in Ukambani and Mrs Ngilu's latest jibe is likely to escalate their differences ahead of the General Election.
The minister said Mr Musyoka, in his time as MP and Cabinet minister spanning more than 20 years, has failed to take a firm position on national matters.
“He is a person who is here today and there tomorrow. Do we need such a person (to be our president)?”
Mrs Ngilu did not delve into alleged failures of the VP since he joined politics as Mwingi North MP in 1985.
In a rejoinder, Mr Musyoka accused the Water minister of “hypocrisy” and challenged her to explain why the people of Mwingi North have been electing him if at all he had nothing to offer.

“The people of Mwingi North have elected Kalonzo Musyoka for five times in a row because he is a performer and not for lack of a competitor,” said the VP’s spokesman Kaplich Barsito.
“If Minister Ngilu were to take herself and her false claims seriously, she would be the first person to acknowledge the numerous development projects associated with the VP in his capacity as MP, Cabinet minister and the patron of the Kalonzo Musyoka Foundation.”
On succession politics, Mrs Ngilu declined to state who she will support in the next polls.
“I have not expressed my support to anybody. I have been an elected leader for 20 years and I am able to make my own  decision,” she said.
But when asked whether she had fallen out with ODM and Prime Minister Raila Odinga, she replied: “The Prime Minister is the Prime Minister of the republic of Kenya. I think he is a great man.
"I am working with ODM as I have worked with them before but I am focused on what we can do for the country.”
