Gospel singer Emmy Kosgei jetted out of the country yesterday for a show in London this Saturday.Speaking to Word Is before she left Nairobi, Emmy, famed for the hit Taunet Nelelexpressed her excitement at the chance to perform in Europe. The singer who recently launched her album Ololo will be traveling alone to the UK where she said, “There is a band set up to back her up”.
Emmy will be performing at Christ Church, Christchurch road, Virginia Water, Surrey, GU25 4PT on Saturday. Emmy is not a novel music act to the UK fans, her brand of music which has traversed the borders has seen her bag the Best Female Award at last year’s UK based African Gospel Artiste Awards (AGMA).
Emmy who dons many hats as a gospel artiste, philanthropist and fashion designer, also revealed that beside the planned concert, she will be in London for business. “I will also be there to sign a contracts with a an international music distribution company,” Emmy said, adding that this agreement will lead to the production of a new “Best of Emmy album that will comprise of all the best songs that the East African and International fans love.”
