Police kill two in city robbery attacks

Two suspected robbers were on Tuesday night dead by police in two separate crime incidents within Eastlands area. The first one occurred in Dandora Phase 2 where a police on patrol claimed they encountered a group of three men robbing residents at about 10 pm. The three, according to police, were armed and defied orders to surrender. The night confrontation left one of the suspects dead while two his colleagues were arrested and taken to Dandora Police post. It was claimed that a homemade gun and a panga were recovered from the suspects.
Elsewhere along Kangundo Road in Kayole, a suspected robber was killed by police during a rescue mission of a carjacked motorist. The shooting occurred near Saika Estate. The motorist is said to have been hijacked in Buruburu phase one earlier in the night. He was successfully rescued and his Toyota Premio car registration numbers KAY 457A recovered. Police also managed to get his two phones which were left behind be two suspects who fled from the scene.
And in Majengo Highrise, a man escaped death narrowly after being shot in the chest by robbers who had raided their home. According to the police, the man was shot in the right side of his chest after he shouted at four robbers telling them that they were carrying fake pistols. The robbers had raided the compound and robbed the family Sh5000 on Tuesday night; said City police boss Antony Kibuchi. The injured man was rushed to Kenyatta National Hospital. Police were yesterday hunting down the suspects.
