Opinion Poll:Almost half of MPs to lose seats in 2012

The latest poll indicates that Kenyans have lost faith in the current leadership Almost half of the current members of parliament will not be voted back in next year's general elections according to the latest opinion poll by strategic research. According to the mid-year national opinion poll released Friday morning, if Kenyans were to go for elections today, half of the MPs will not be voted back. 47 percent of Kenyans feel let down by their MPs, who they say have not lived up to their promises. Kenyans further feel that the enactment of the Constitution is the government's biggest achievement since the last elections. The government however got a poor score card due to the high cost of living which is listed as its greatest failure since the last general elections. ODM is the most popular party with 45.3% of Kenyans supporting the party followed by PNU with 23.5%. And if elections were to be held today, Raila Odinga would be the favorite candidate followed by Uhuru Kenyatta, kalonzo Musyoka and William Ruto. As to whether the talked of G7 alliance were to materialize, Uhuru Kenyatta would be the most suited to carry its mantle with William Ruto coming second and Vice President Kalonzo Muyoka taking the third place. But 67 per cent Kenyans feel that such an alliance nothing short of an illusion.
