Friday November 2, 2012 - News trickling in indicates that New Ford Kenya (NFK) Presidential hopeful Eugene Wamalwa has dismissed media reports indicating that he has dropped his ambitions for the Presidency opting for Speaker of the National Assembly seat.
In a party meeting held on Friday morning, Wamalwa said he is firmly in the Presidential race and he will go to the end.
New Ford Kenya officials also echoed Wamalwa’s remarks saying, their party leader name must appear in the ballot box.
In the meeting, renegade party officials were axed paving away for loyal officials.
Among those who were axed from NFK are Ikolomani MP Boni Khalwale and Housing Minister Shoita Shitanda whom have since dumped Wamalwa for Deputy Prime Minister Musalia Mudavadi of the United Democratic forum (UDF).
There was a speculation in a section of media houses that Eugene Wamalwa will join Deputy Prime Minister Uhuru Kenyatta’s bandwagon, The National Alliance (TNA), a move Wamalwa says has been put to rest to allow further consultations.
Subsequently, the deal between Uhuru's TNA and Eugene's New Ford Kenya which was supposed to be formalised on Friday was put on hold to allow further consultations to involve Eldoret North MP William Ruto's United Republican Party (URP) and Charity Ngilu's Narc.
