Nigerian singer Flavour
Celebrated Nigerian singer Flavour says he is not ready to marry.
Flavour, who is in the country for the Coke Studio recording, told Citizen Digital that he intends to take more time to choose the right marriage partner and would not like to make any mistake.
According to Nigerian taboos, he says, you cannot opt out of a wedding once you have settled on a partner.

“Where I come from, marriage is treated very seriously: if you go into the institution, you do not jump out of it anyhow – we are not used to divorces in Nigeria,” he said.
Flavour further expounded on how Nigerians go about the marriage process.
“You sit down with your parents, and let them know about your plans. You then give out every detail about the woman you would want to marry.”
He adds that: “the parents visit the girl’s village seeking her details: her family background and any other information to ensure she has a good moral standing.”
“After this, they document the findings and later reveal them to you before asking if you would want to proceed with the marriage,” he added.
“If she comes from a good family, they will offer their support and urge you to go for it,” he said adding that, “however, if they are not satisfied with her background, they will ask you to reconsider your decision.”
Flavour revealed should you chose to proceed with a wedding without your parent’s approval and later on seek a divorce, they (parents) would return you to your partner.
The singer added: “I have to be very careful when it comes to marriage. With the kind of job I am doing – women throw their inner clothes at me on stage, how would I be able to differentiate a good woman from a bad one?”
“So I take my time, and pray to God to guide me towards getting a good woman.”
Coke Studio Recording season 3
Flavour has been paired up with Uganda’s top singer Juliana Kanyomozi, in what has been dubbed ‘super mash up’ which will see the two fuse their songs into one magical hit in this year’s Coke Studio recording.
“I am so happy to be back in Coke Studio; I was here last year. It’s always a pleasure to be part of what comes out of great musical talents. Collaborating with different acts is exciting,” said Flavour.
