President Museveni before inviting President Uhuru to address the August House, this morning at Parliament, gave brief remarks on East African integration, noting two main objectives:
"First, Prosperity for our people in a modern context. When we talk of integration we talk of families of Africa, businesses in Africa to transform to a modern and prosperous region.
Secondly, Security; The Americans these days are talking of superiority on land, in air, on sea. We should also be focusing to achieve this." - President Museveni

President Uhuru has commended Kenya and Uganda's brotherhood citing Uganda's Gold medalist Steven Kiprotich, and Hon. Aggrey Awori.
"We have a special bond, for example- Aggrey Awori a former MP in #Uganda is a brother to our former VP, Moody Awori. When Steven Kiprotich won a medal, in Kenya people celebrated thinking he was Kenyan, only to turn out he is Ugandan. Our citizens, businesses and even investors are becoming even closer." - President Uhuru
