Hundreds of Matunda Township residents on Saturday August 8th thronged a local church to witness a unique wedding between a widow and widower in their sunset years.
The Ex-Reverend Stephen Njoroge, 75, and Joyce Njoroge, 70, in moment of joy bid boredom farewell as they exchanged their vows at PCEA Church – Matunda Town.

Njoroge, a father of six, said that his intention to marry again was to escape the misery of boredom.
Speaking during the wedding ceremony, the bride, a mother of four, said that the couple has known each other for the last forty years and they didn’t know that they would marry at some point.
According to Grace Wanjiku, a widow, the aged couple has shown an example that all widows can find love again.
